These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Liberator: Food Scanner mobile application (the "App") operated by the developer of Liberator: Food Scanner ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Liberator is an educational food scanning tool that helps users identify ingredients, additives, and nutritional information in packaged food products. The App provides ingredient analysis scores, concern-level classifications, and general educational information about food additives.
The App is an educational tool only. The information provided by Liberator — including ingredient scores, risk classifications, concern levels, and additive descriptions — does not constitute medical, nutritional, dietary, or health advice. The App is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider with any questions regarding your health, diet, or a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information you read in this App.
Liberator retrieves product data from third-party sources including Kroger, USDA FoodData Central, and Open Food Facts. For photo-based scans, the App uses AI-powered image analysis to identify products and estimate ingredients. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that product information, ingredient lists, nutrition data, or AI-generated estimates are complete, current, or error-free. You should always verify information by reading the physical product label.
Liberator offers auto-renewable subscription plans:
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
You may create an account using email and password, Sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

The App, including its design, code, text, graphics, and scoring algorithms, is owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Product data retrieved from third-party databases remains the property of those respective sources.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lucky Happy Fish LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, health, goodwill, or data, arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
The App integrates with third-party services (Supabase, OpenRouter, Kroger, USDA, Open Food Facts, Apple, Google, Facebook). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and intellectual property) will remain in effect.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State in which the developer is organized, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
